Labels but no aircraft using Swift

Post by 173MC »

Today, using XP 11.41 with Swift at the Fly-in, when I got to Squamish, I saw labels, but no aircraft, and I suspect these were just "ghost" labels from aircraft that were there earlier; for one of the label, I am certain, because I heard the pilot announcing he was 8 miles away on his return to the airport.

Has anyone seen this before? Is it a Swift bug? Where should it be reported?

Thank you.

Hello,

sometimes you see the labels before you can see the plane. For example, if the direct view is blocked by hindrances (buildings, mountains). BTW: You can see in the SWIFT client how far away the client is and draw conclusions from this. It could also be that the other clients are displayed below your base because of the different terrain height.

It's not a bug, it's a feature.

I did check the Aircraft tab in Swift and all of the "labels" were for planes miles away; so, if it is a feature, it is a strange one.

sorry for the simple answer. You can try to set the distance-restriction under SWIFT in Settings->Simulator. We could also limit the range on the server.
